Stalking can happen to anyone!

It is a common mistake to think that stalking only happens to celebrities. It could not be further from the truth.

The majority of stalking victims are ordinary people, both men and women, and only few are celebrities.

The majority of the victims, which is about 80%, are average women, i.e. students, educated, non-educated, working, unemployed and homemakers.

About 20% of the victims who report their stalker are men.

There has not been conducted any investigations on the cause behind these numbers, but we imagine that it has something to

do with the fact that men do not feel as threatened as women, or that men is not at as great a risk as women at being stalked. There can be many explanations.

About two thirds of the victims are familiar with their stalker. It can be an ex-boyfriend, ex-girlfriend, ex-date, former or present spouse, affair, neighbour, colleague, acquainted, or family member.

In one third of the cases, the victim does not have any direct connection to the stalker.
